Shake

shaker

Here’s a track I’ve been working on, a cross between dubstep & drum’n'bass. It’s only in a demo form at the moment but it’s always good to share these things I reckon? Anyway, hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment in the player if you use Soundcloud…

Tramrider – Single Shot Film Experiment

Port de Sóller Tram

Here’s a single shot film experiment made in Soller, Majorca. The film captures the tram journey from the Port de Sóller travelling around the bay and into the town of Sóller.

The playback speed of the recorded footage was increased 400%, with the recorded sound transformed into an ambient soundscape using reverb and delay, building to a crescendo.

Dungeness Film

dungeness

Dungeness is a surreal landscape on the south coast of England. Part nature reserve, part fishing community, and home to a steam railway and a nuclear power station. I’ve wanted to visit for years, and to use footage of the area in a film.

The films aims to explore the juxtaposition of environments at Dungeness, showing different usages of land, and the effect of man in a natural environment.

So fast forward to a blustery, snowy and freezing cold April and I find myself there with my camera. What you see here is the result. I hope I have captured the mood of this barren, isolated, and intriguing landscape…

X5 – Cambridge to Bedford Stop Motion Video

X5 Movie Screenshot

Here’s an experimental video created whilst travelling the X5 Coach from Cambridge to Bedford. Using the iPad app iStopMotion (from Boinx) I filmed the journey from Cambridge to Bedford. The resulting footage was then re-assembled in Adobe Premiere. The film was completed with the addition of a music track I created especially for the movie. Here’s the result:

There’s been a few changes around here, a new site layout & structure, and loads of content from previous projects added. I’ve raided the archives and pulled out lots of soundtrack work going back over 10 years!

You may wish to check out the theatre soundtracks to Mojo, Plasticine or the Trio Of Montague, which I don’t think have been published anywhere before.

There’s also a web design page highlighting my current work. Visit suzannemorganosteopath.co.uk or lavenderfieldsemporium.co.uk to check out my latest work.

I’ve got some interesting projects in the pipeline, including a new music video project and an interesting film series. Join the mailing list if you wish to be kept in the loop!

That’s all for now, Matt

Website Commission – Lavender Fields Emporium

Lavender Fields Emporium

Lavender Fields are a Yorkshire-based events company that have recently expanded and opened a retail outlet & tea room in Keighley, West Yorkshire. I was commissioned to develop a new site for them using the WordPress framework, with the ability to integrate an E-commerce facility as the business and website expands…

Required was a site that was free of clutter and easy to navigate, allowing the end user to update as and when necessary. I’ve worked closely with Lavender Fields to integrate the site effectively into their marketing strategy. An important requirement of the site was to efficiently inform customers of events held by Lavender Fields. This was achieved through scheduled updates of posts fed via RSS to an email service.

Some demo tracks…

Here’s a few things that I’ve been working on recently…

Games Without Frontiers is an update of a remix I created a few years ago. I’d never been quite happy with the result so decided to give it an update.

Again, Once Again is an update on a track recorded with the singer songwriter Kay Elizabeth around 5 years ago. This version will hopefully see the light of day on a release through Uncle Bob’s Records.

Bombs is a track sampling a UK government anti-terrorist recording as it’s source. Enjoy…

Murder & Mutilation…

Murder

Here’s a little something made to check out the video sequencing in Ableton Live. All the sound is from the original video clips, taken from a Troma film and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Enjoy!

Three Gigs

OneTwoThree

Saturday 16th June – Holy Molys @ Esquires, Bedford

This will be the final performance of the Feather Hammer project with Leah Kardos and will also feature material from the My Lithium & Me project. As well as VJing with Leah I will also be performing an audio-visual DJ set to round off the evening.

Saturday 21st July, The Picturedrome, Northampton

This gig is in aid of the charity Always A Chance and will feature me VJing alongside An Army of Lights, in The Picturedrome, Northampton, a great little venue converted from an old cinema…

Friday 27th July, South Bank Arts Centre, Bedford

Kain are a band with a unique mix of Grunge, Classic and Stoner Rock, Metal and Thrash but with a sound wholly their own. I will be VJing alongside Kain for the first time as part of the Bedfringe Festival. This should be an interesting collaboration!
