About

Hello, thank you for visiting my website and for taking the time to explore some of the things that I do. If you like what you see and want to keep up to date with my activities and music releases please join my mailing list. I promise not to bombard your inbox, but will keep you entertained with free stuff only for subscribers.

A little about me:

I’m a musician and multimedia artist born in Derby. I’ve found my current base in Bedford having spent time in Yorkshire and London along the way. I’m happiest when I’m making things, whether that’s music, video or interactive stuff. I work from my own project studio.

I’m a versatile composer and sound designer having composed and produced music and sound for film and theatre. As well as being available for custom music projects (get in touch!), I have a large catalog of music available for licensing for film, tv and multimedia projects.

I’ve been involved in education through a lot of my musical career and have worked as a Music Technology lecturer in colleges in West London and Bedford, specialising in composing music for media. I have a degree in Music from Brunel University and a master’s degree in Audio & Video Technology from Anglia Ruskin University.

Having worked at festivals, live music and club events utilising Modul8 & Resolume for visual performance has helped influence my current interactive work, as well as influenced me stylistically in creating music video content for both myself and others.

Recently completing an MSc in Audio & Video Technology, gaining experience in programming custom instruments and performance interfaces using technologies such as LeapMotion , Pure Data & Processing. Live video performance, or VJing has been influential in shaping my work.

As a vehicle to allow me to structure my music and develop releases I’ve created a record label called Tape du Jour. The first release is out now, with a second due to be announced imminently.

Thanks for reading. Please keep in touch via my mailing list or the social media links on this site. I’m available to hire, and always open to interesting collaborations.

Matt
